We often source white linen sheets but have to warn our clients not to use bleach because it will weaken the fibers. So to prolong the life of linen bedding, we recommend washing sheets using liquid detergent on a gentle cycle in your washer. The beauty of linen, is that it gets better over time. I like to compare it to how leather patinas over time, linen also softens so it’s not too precious to use daily, just the opposite.

When shopping for linen sheets, what are 3-4 key factors to consider and why?

Linen bedding is an investment, so you want to make sure to look for high quality fabric that will last you a long time. Things to look for are the “ingredients” should say 100% flax linen. Sometimes it will say French, Belgian or European… which is less relevant indicator of quality, and more of a marketing thing.
